At the foot of the Taygetos and Parnonas mountains, near Sparta, Laconia, Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms have been cultivating and producing organic olives, certified from Bio-Hellas, since 1992.

We consciously chose organic farming from the very beginning, knowing the benefits that it has for human health and for the environment.

We began when organic farming was not well known in Greece and our purpose was, and still is, to produce high quality organic olive oil and olives with identity, innovation and health protective ingredients that are scientifically proven and belong to the category of bio functional foods, rich in polyphenols.

International Awards

Our organic olive oils and olives have been awarded with a record number of 855 international awards in the most prestigious taste competitions worldwide for their exceptionally high quality.

A typical example of a rare distinction is the award of the title of Best European Organic Olive Producer to Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms by the European Council of Gastronomy and Oenology - CEUCO 2023.

It is very important to emphasize that it is the first time that an olive producer from any European country has been awarded, in the seventeen years that the high level of difficulty CEUCO culinary awards have been held and highlight the best European of their kind.

Clinical Trials & Research Projects

Our organic olive oils participate in the Mediterranean Diet Intervention Trial "Feeding America's Bravest", conducted by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University in the USA.

The organic Kalamata table olives from our farms participate exclusively in the "Olives For Health" research carried out by the School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology of the School of Medicine, at Yale University.

With our natural table olives, three clinical studies are being conducted for their positive effect on human health, by the Department of Pharmacy of NKUA. The results of the 1st clinical study led to its expansion to a larger group and the conduction of the 2nd clinical study.

Now, after 2 clinical studies with excellent results and the granting of an international patent for the conversion of olives in powder form into a capsule, the 3rd clinical study is being conducted in patients with hyperlipidemia.

The preparatory project entitled “Oleocanthal Plus” Cardio of the School of Public Health of Yale University in the USA is being carried out with our high oleocanthal olive oil Plus Health Multivarietal Green Evoo, to assess the impact of high oleocanthal olive oil on cardiovascular disease markers.

In addition, researchers from three American universities, Auburn, Temple and Yale School of Public Health, are conducting a clinical trial entitled “EVOO for Brain Health” with our high oleocanthal olive oil Plus Health Multivarietal Green Evoo, to assess the impact of high oleocanthal olive oil on people with a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease.

The range of our specialized organic olive products is of limited edition and contains: organic cold extracted olive oils with low acidity, premium gourmet flavored olive oils of specialized expertise with worldwide distinctions, natural organic table olives with minimal salt, gourmet olives as well as unsalted olives.
